Yachting Malta CEO Michael Mifsud and a group of local marina representatives took part in the Power4Med Marina Managers Programme in Greece, part of the Power4Med project to accelerate the green transformation of the Mediterranean’s maritime sector.
Sustainability has been central to Yachting Malta’s work since its strategy was launched in 2020, and it joined Power4Med in 2023 to work with Mediterranean partners on future-proofing marinas and yachting destinations.
The delegation travelled from Athens to Nafplion for the Mediterranean Boat Show, stopping at the Corinth Canal to look at its maritime infrastructure. On 7th May, in a visit arranged by Niki Travers Tauss of D-Marin Marina di Valletta, they toured D-Marin Zea Marina with Country CEO Iannis Koutsodontis and Marina Manager Konstantina Leontsini, seeing solar-powered benches, advanced waste separation and energy- and water-saving infrastructure. The day ended with a session led by Dr Gregory Yovanof of the Strategis Maritime Centre of Excellence.
