Yachting Malta’s stand at Boot Düsseldorf, Europe’s largest marine exhibition, drew a steady flow of international visitors from 17th to 25th January. For the first time the stand, run with Visit Malta and the Malta Ship Registry in Hall 16, also gave space to Malta’s sailing schools. The Malta Young Sailors Club and the Royal Malta Yacht Club Sailing School took it up to promote Malta as a winter training destination for sailors and teams from across Europe.
Visitors asked about Malta’s yachting infrastructure, services and year-round sailing, and increasingly about berthing and longer winter stays in the islands’ marinas. The Malta Ship Registry highlighted the flag as a cornerstone of Malta’s yachting and maritime ecosystem. Discussions also covered inclusivity through the Hansa 303 class, women in sailing, and developing the new Olympic classes locally.
“By bringing together our national partners, our ship registry and now also our sailing schools, we are presenting Malta as a complete, end-to-end yachting destination, offering services, events, training and experiences at every level of the sport and industry,” said CEO Michael Mifsud.
