Intersport is teaming up with the Hudson Foundation to organise a fun activity dedicated to man’s (and woman’s) best friend. A 2km dog walk will take place along the picturesque Maqluba route in Qrendi on Sunday 23rd April 2023, inviting families and their four-legged friends out for a Sunday walk.
The walk coincides with the Intersport Maqluba 10km run, part of the Intersport 10k Series, which takes runners through one of Malta’s most scenic nature tracks.
Participation costs €15 per dog, regardless of how many humans come along. Each dog may be accompanied by up to four people, at least one of whom must be an adult aged 16 or over.
Funds raised will go to the Hudson Foundation, which will use them to support the Real Animal Rights Association and the running of its safe house, which takes in abandoned and ill-treated animals from the street.
Every participant will receive a goodie bag with dog items from Borg Cardona and vouchers from River Island, a brand represented in Malta by Hudson that also stocks apparel for dogs. And every dog that crosses the finish line will be awarded its very own doggie medal.
About the Hudson Foundation
The Hudson Foundation was set up to give back to society, helping to “give a voice to the voiceless” by supporting abandoned dogs, children and Mother Earth. It has funded restoration works and an emergency room at Noah’s Ark in Mellieħa, covered medical expenses and cleaning materials for the Association for Abandoned Animals in Birżebbuġa, and supported families in Malta who fled the war in Ukraine.
