Twenty eight nations, including top flight countries such as Russia, Spain, Ukraine and Belarus will be fielding 228 athletes who will be competing in Solo, Duet and Mixed Duet Free and Technical Routines, as well as the Highlights, Team and Combination events.

The Maltese Artistic Swimming team will be made up of Davida Bonanno (Captain),  Thea Blake, Tara Bonnici Peresso, Ana Culic, Elisa Friggieri, Katarina Galea Curmi, Ana Julia Grech, Thea Grima Buttigieg, Valen tina Marchi, Kelly Ann Sargeny, Nicole Tomic Felice and  Hannah Xuereb and accompanied by coaches Michelle Hyubner and Hannah Preca Trapani.  They will be competing in the Solo, Duet and Combination events.

“Hosting the European Junior Artistic Swimming Championships is a major milestone for the sport in Malta and is proof of the high regard Malta is held by LEN.  The ASA has been working hard in the past months to ensure that the event lives up to international expections.  This has been made even more challenging due to the pandemic.  We are grateful for the support of the health authorities,  the Parliamentary Secretary Clifton Grima, Mark Cutajar CEO of SportMalta, the two Artistic Swimming Clubs – Sirens and Synchro Knights and last but not least the coaches Michelle and Hannah who have done an excellent job in motivating and instilling commitment within the team” Joe Caruana Curran, President Aquatic Sports Association of Malta.
