Yachting Malta worked with Transport Malta and industry stakeholders on the Strategic Vision for the Superyacht Industry, the policy document that will shape one of Malta’s most important maritime sectors.
The superyacht sector has become a crucial pillar of the economy: more than 1,100 superyachts over 24 metres fly the Maltese flag. Yachting Malta’s aim in shaping the policy was a framework that nurtures the sector’s growth while keeping it sustainable and holding it to high standards, attracting and supporting owners, operators and enthusiasts.
Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Dr Aaron Farrugia described the document as a roadmap setting out where the industry stands, its ambitions and the detailed plan to reach them, including the infrastructure the sector needs.
