Yachting Malta Race Week runs from 19th to 28th May, showcasing Maltese talent across dinghy, keelboat, one-design and powerboat racing, hosted with Voomquest Powerboat Racing, the Royal Malta Yacht Club and Vikings Sailing Club.
It opens with the first Grand Prix of the Voomquest Enemed UIM V2 World Championships off the Sliema seafront, with international teams in the V2 and 3D classes. At the same time the RMYC hosts a weekend of inshore racing along the Kalkara coastline and a coastal race on Monday evening.
From 23rd to 25th May, the RMYC and Vikings Sailing Club host Steering the Course, World Sailing’s global initiative to bring more women into sailing, celebrating women already in the sport and welcoming those who have never tried it.
Race Week closes with the Veuve Clicquot Round Linosa Race, where several crews will be trying to beat the IRC corrected-time record set by Aaron Gatt Floridia’s Otra Vez.
