Yachting Malta was at four of the world’s leading boat shows in 2024: Boot Düsseldorf, the Dubai International Boat Show, the Cannes Yachting Festival and, for the first time, the Palma International Boat Show, where it joined 295 companies and 260 boats on display at sea. In Cannes it hosted a networking evening with some of the industry’s strongest international players.
“These events provide invaluable opportunities to connect with industry leaders, attract potential investors, and position Malta as a premier yachting destination in the Mediterranean,” said CEO Michael Mifsud.
At home, the Malta Boat Show from 31st October to 3rd November attracted over 8,000 visitors. Race Week combined keelboat and dinghy regattas with a Cruisers’ Rally and Hansa 303 inclusive sailing, and Yachting Malta backed the Foiling 100 Challenge, prepared for by Karl Miggiani’s Round Malta record of 3 hours, 46 minutes and 5 seconds. The Birżebbuġa International Regatta welcomed sailors from Slovenia, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Japan, Germany, Tajikistan, Lithuania and Turkey, and the 24th Euromed International Regatta brought 170 sailors from 27 countries.
In April, Yachting Malta facilitated the reciprocal agreement between the Royal Malta Yacht Club and the Yacht Club de Cannes. In October, World Sailing President Quanhai Li attended the Yachting Malta Coastal Race prize-giving, whose fleet was one of the largest in recent memory, and Yachting Malta again supported the live broadcast of the Rolex Middle Sea Race start.
