During the morning session of the European Short Course Swimming Championships being held in Kazan, Sasha Gatt swam the 1500m Freestyle event in 16:46.28 and established a new National Short Course Record for this distance.
There was previously no recorded time since this distance was only recently introduced for women.
Malta is being represented in the LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships by Dylan Cachia, Sasha Gatt and Thomas Wareing.
