During the morning session of the 4th Day of the European Short Course Swimming Championships being held in Kazan, Russia, Dylan Cachia swam the 200m Freestyle event in 01:51.36 achieving a new National Short Course Record for this distance.

The previous record was held by Matthew Galea with a time of 01:52.79 and was achieved in Wuppertal in October 2018.
Maltese swimmers will return in action tomorrow Saturday 6th November when Cachia will compete in the 800m freestyle, Sasha Gatt in the 200m Freestyle and Thomas Wareing will take part in the 100m Individual Medley
