Four Maltese Swimmers at COMEN Mediterranean Swimming Cup
Malta is being represented by four swimmers at the COMEN Mediterranean Swimming Cup being held in Belgrade, Serbia this week.
The Competition is open for girls aged 13 & 14 and boys aged 15 & 16. Following a published qualifying criteria, Nathan Cachia, Kristy Delia, Michela Portelli and Italo Salamone were selected by the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta as the Maltese swimmers.
The Maltese swimmers will be competing in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle events as well as the 100m and 200m butterfly events.

The Maltese contingent is made up of Coach Ebi Mohammadpour, ASA President Joe Caruana Curran who will be attending as COMEN Delegate for the event, whilst ASA Swimming Vice President David Bonello will be attending as a member of the COMEN Swimming Technical Committee.
Currently the four swimmers are undergoing training at the Competition venue, whilst competitions will start on Friday 15th October. Their commitments in Belgrade will end on Sunday 17th October, with the contingent flying back to Malta on Monday 18th October.
