Jonathan Borg has been appointed Chairman of Yachting Malta, the third chairman of the public–private partnership with the Royal Malta Yacht Club since its launch in 2015, succeeding John Huber. The appointment was presented by Hon. Aaron Farrugia, Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects.
Borg has over thirty years of experience in the maritime industry in the public and private sectors, specialising in research and analysis and in business process re-engineering. Internationally he has delivered marine contracts with leading contractors in the North Sea, the Mediterranean and North Africa. A keen boater, he is a long-serving member of the Malta Maritime Forum.
“Being appointed as Chairman of Yachting Malta is truly an honour which comes with a huge responsibility to continue building on the legacy left by my predecessors. The industry is currently in a highly interesting phase, particularly in view of the recently announced National Policy for Yachting which aims to consolidate the industry in Malta,” said Borg.
His first major event will be the Yacht Racing Forum, which Yachting Malta hosts on 21st and 22nd November.
