Yachting Malta made its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival from 12th to 17th September, with a stand at the Palais des Festivals shared with the Malta Ship Registry, Visit Malta and the Superyacht Industry Network Malta.
One of the most influential boat shows in the world, the festival welcomes over 50,000 visitors, 610 exhibitors and more than 500 journalists, and has outgrown the Vieux Port into Port Canto. Yachting Malta had already helped the Superyacht Industry Network set up its stand there in 2019. This year nine industry supporters joined the Maltese presence: BDO Malta, Camilleri Marine, CSR Yachting, Ganado Advocates, Maritime MT, KSi Malta, Mediterranean Maritime Hub, NAS and Xone.
Malta came to Cannes with a strong story. Its ship registry is the sixth largest in the world and the largest in Europe by tonnage, and superyacht registrations for vessels over 24 metres have grown by 51%.
“We are thrilled to be taking part in the Cannes Yachting Festival. This event will provide us with an exceptional platform to introduce Yachting Malta’s philosophy and values to an international audience. Our debut here signifies our commitment to developing the potential Malta has as a yachting destination and underscores our dedication to offering unparalleled services to existing and future stakeholders,” said CEO Michael Mifsud.
