Yachting Malta has appointed three new members to its Board of Directors, all representing the Royal Malta Yacht Club: Commodore David Cremona, Hon. Treasurer Mark Vella and Rear Commodore (Special Events) Georges Bonello Dupuis.
“We are excited to welcome David, Mark and Georges to our board of directors. They bring years of leadership in key areas of the industry such as yachting event management, competitive sailing and administration,” said Chairman John Huber. Yachting Malta thanked outgoing members Peter Dimech and Mark Napier for their contribution.
David Cremona has been an active RMYC member for twenty years with countless races to his name, including the Rolex Middle Sea Race, and brings decades of senior corporate experience. Mark Vella has seven Rolex Middle Sea Races behind him, has served the RMYC committee as Treasurer and Secretary, and chaired the Covid-19 task force that made last year’s race possible; he is a Senior Manager at Malta Freeport Corporation. Georges Bonello Dupuis was Commodore of the RMYC for twelve years until 2012, secured Rolex as title sponsor of the Middle Sea Race and spearheaded the building of the Ta’ Xbiex clubhouse.
They join John Huber (Chairman), Paul Muscat (Deputy Chairman), Ing. Christopher Borg, Audrienne Ciantar, Frederick Cutajar and Godwin Zammit on the Board.
