Leon Chetcuti pipped Mark Herrera by a single second to win the 10km at the Hudson Race Series Dingli Edition, one of the toughest and hilliest courses of the series, which again drew a sell-out crowd.
Chetcuti and Herrera ran side by side from the start until Chetcuti edged ahead in the last few metres, 35:11 to 35:12, with Heathcliff Vella third. Josann Attard Pulis led the women’s race from start to finish in 42:04, ahead of Jolene Debattista and Caroline Ciappara.
Brandon Saliba won the 5km, with Thurstan Dimech holding off Stefan Sultana by a second for second place. Charyl Fava won the women’s 5km, staving off Veronika Kersyte, with Norah Zammit third.
Race Director Charlie Demanuele thanked the athletes and Hudson Holdings for their continued support, along with the Dingli and Rabat local councils, the Rabat District Police, Transport Malta, the medical teams and officials. The series moves to Burmarrad on 1st September.
